Amazingly, one out of five adult Americans feel that they are unable to afford adequate health care according to the latest statistics released by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, Georgia. The report of the CDC which was published in 2007 and explored health care in the United States looked in depth at a number of aspects of health care and found amongst other things that:
1. 10% of people cannot presently pay the cost of prescription medicines.
2. 10% of people delay having medical treatment as a result of the price.
3. As many as nearly one in three young people between the ages of 18 and 24 do not have a usual source of medical treatment or health care insurance.
